o We need to fix the search result for our homepage.
o Alessio gave everyone the password to the website so that anyone can edit it when required
· The international coffee hour is coming up.
o We decided to set August 6th as the deadline to receive 10 questions from each language which will be featured in the coffee hour.
o I had a suggestion that we should work on commonly used American phrases (like calling petrol as Gas or which words are commonly used or pronunciations which are peculiar to Americans)
o We need to order food for the event.The options we came up with are
§ Chips and Salsa
§ Maybe more varieties of coffee
§ Lemon bars/ brownies
§ Cookies
o Various ways of marketing the coffee hour were discussed.
o We thought if we would hire someone to distribute flyers.
o I will distribute flyers in engineering and dorms.
· Alessio had been to recent orientations and only two more orientations are remaining.
o Kevin has agreed to let us give a 2 minute presentation in the 'Welcome lunch for international students'
o Welcome Lunch will be August 22nd
· We had a small discussion about the host family concept and its implementation.
· The topic in focus was the social security office trip which has been organized by the international council since a long time.
o Finally after going over various options and consulting Santosh (president of ISA) we have come up with a plan that 5th Sept will be the registration deadline and the social security trip will be organised on the 12th if we get minimum no. of students(most probably 12 or 15) registered.
· We need to talk to the international club people and work on options of working together.
· I put forth a plan of having a longer career workshop with a few more additions and I will mail SJ with what I have soon.
· From there we headed on to Yoghurtplace and then Yardhouse. Had a nice time with all u guys
